12th November 2011

The 30th Anniversary celebrations at Shaw Hall Caravan Park reached their climax at a fantastic black tie award evening event, The ‘Shoscars’.

Guests, including the Mayor and Mayoress of West Lancashire, Councillor Rob Bailey and Mrs Sue Murrin – Bailey enjoyed  an evening of celebrations including  a champagne welcome on the red carpet with plenty of  “papparazi” action providing snapshot souvenirs for everyone.

Awards included  ‘Long-standing customer’ and ‘Long-serving employee’ followed by  partying into the small hours.

The Shoscars evening followed a series of hugely successful anniversary events throughout 2011 and one lucky guest won £1000 in the ‘Grab a Grand’ booth.

Directors Alison and Sally Pringle are delighted with the success of their Pearl Anniversary events and have thoroughly enjoyed meeting old and new customers throughout the year.

They commented. ‘Our business is really important to us and we try to make the Park a home from home for all our guests. The business has flourished in the last 30 years since dad had his vision of creating a first rate holiday park. We are now open for 50 weeks a year so our guests can stay almost year-round. Visitors come from across the region and the business they bring benefits the wider business community here in Ormskirk and Southport.

In his opening speech, the mayor said, ‘We are very pleased to be here this evening to mark the 30th Anniversary of Shaw Hall Caravan Park. It is a great example of how a family business can survive and grow in an economy that we know can sometimes be difficult.

‘I know that West Lancashire business people have a great belief in making the most of the hugely attractive area we live in and provide a wonderful mix of leisure activities in and around the region which is second to none.’

‘I congratulate the Shaw Hall team for their great work as ambassadors for the leisure industry in West Lancashire and here’s to the next 30 years!’
